Though the Lakers lost to the Clippers on July 14, James was one of the few bright spots as he logged a complete game: 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and three 3-pointers. A fter a down year for the 2024 NBA rookie class, during which second-rounder Bronny James was the most anticipated draft pick to play in the NBA summer league in Las Vegas, the excitement was back earlier this month as No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg and other top selections from the touted 2025 class took the court with their new teams.

The Warriors had, arguably, the least-heralded Summer League roster. Second-year center Quinten Post did not play, and there were no ballyhooed prospects on a roster populated by NBA hopefuls, benchwarmers and future all-stars in Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional.

With two-way center N’Faly Dante likely unavailable (ankle), the Rockets will face off against the Trail Blazers and rookie sensation Yang Hansen.
