Lucas Giolito described his outing on Tuesday night as “not doing my job.” His fastball was down from 93.3 to 91.6, he threw two breaking balls the entire outing, and left balls in the middle of the plate all night.

Lucas Giolito’s first start off the injured list was highly encouraging. The right-hander shut down the Blue Jays for most of his outing, and while he eventually ran out of gas, Giolito gave good reason for optimism going forward. But Tuesday night marked a concerning step backwards.
