Mac Jones' ‘swag' helped him become 49ers boom box leader, per Deommodore Lenoir
Deommodore Lenoir explained how Mac Jones' "swag" helped the 49ers QB lead San Francisco's iconic boom box walkout before games.
Not long after nearly losing a fumble on a sack, Mac Jones finally unravels for the 49ers, tossing a deep pick to Jamel Dean that just might seal a home victory for Tampa Bay, which is getting heroic stuff from its own gunslinger in Baker Mayfield:
Each Jets loss gets them closer to Justin Fields' replacement. And, hey, Brock Purdy doesn't have to worry about a QB batter, right?
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Quarterback Brock Purdy will miss his fourth game this season for San Francisco because of a toe injury, and backup Mac Jones is listed as questionable but expected to start on Sunday against Tampa Bay despite being hampered by injuries to his knee and oblique.
The 49ers' inactives are Purdy (toe), Pearsall (knee), wide receiver Jordan Watkins (calf), defensive lineman Yetur Gross-Matos (hamstring), linebacker Nick Martin and running back Jordan James.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones' pass is intercepted by Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Kindle Vildor, giving the Bucs great field position.
Mac Jones didn’t throw at all in practice Thursday but the hope is he’ll be good to go against Tampa with Brock Purdy likely sidelined again.
Kindle Vildor picked Jones on a pass intended for Kendrick Bourne, and the defensive back returned it 13 yards on the San Francisco 12. Bourne blamed himself for the interception for not adjusting his route as Jones expected. Two Rachaad White runs later, the Bucs had a 7-0 lead. The Bucs punted on their first drive.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Yaya Diaby sacks San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones for a 9-yard loss, giving the Bucs' defense six sacks on the day.
