Newly promoted Sunderland has signed 19-year-old striker Marc Guiu on a season-long loan from Chelsea ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Kristjaan Speakman insisted that convincing a player to come to Sunderland on loan as well as assuring the parent club it’s a good thing is never easy. And he revealed the Black Cats had to fight of fierce rivalry from other interested parties to ensure the signature dynamic young Spanish forward Marc Guiu.

Chelsea striker Marc Guiu has joined promoted Sunderland on a season-long loan deal. The 19-year-old was on Wearside on Wednesday to undergo a medical after the two clubs agreed a temporary switch.
