The driver believed to be responsible for a series of events that culminated in the explosion of a building in Wilmington, N.C., has been charged in connection with the incident.

A brand new veterinary hospital exploded Tuesday morning in North Carolina after a car crashed into a nearby gas meter, authorities said.

"Weather conditions expected to deteriorate along the coast of North Carolina by this evening," the hurricane center said.
