A woman shot to death while driving a vehicle early Tuesday in Orange has been identified by the county coroner's office as a 24-year-old resident of Costa Mesa.

A shooter opened fire through the back window of a SUV in Orange overnight Monday, killing the woman behind the wheel, authorities said. The shooting occurred as the victim was driving a Honda CRV in the area of Highland Street and Del Mar Avenue,

A 24-year-old woman was fatally shot while she was driving through Orange on Tuesday morning, according to police. She was driving a Honda SUV southbound on Highland Street near Del Mar Avenue at around 12:30 a.m. when "an unknown male suspect shot multiple rounds into the car," according to a press release from the Orange Police Department.
