Tottenham has endured the humiliation of being taken to extra time by Tamworth, an opponent nearly 100 places lower in English soccer’s pyramid, before winning 3-0 and avoiding one of the biggest shocks in FA Cup history.

Premier League Tottenham Hotspur were given an FA Cup third-round fright before finally overcoming fifth-tier Tamworth on Sunday. Spurs were taken to extra-time by their part-time opponents after a laboured performance over 90 minutes from Ange Postecoglou's side.

As the game moved into extra time, Tottenham’s quality finally began to tell. A well-placed free-kick from Pedro Porro caused chaos in the Tamworth box, resulting in Nathan Tshikuna accidentally bundling the ball into his own net to break the deadlock in the 100th minute.
