Yankees outfielder Austin Slater exited Monday's game against the Texas Rangers in the first inning with what the team called left hamstring tightness.

Austin Slater, making just his second start with the Yankees since being acquired at the trade deadline, left Monday’s game in the top of the first inning with left hamstring tightness after running out a ground ball.

Arriving from Chicago, Slater was placed on the Yankees' active roster about an hour before Wednesday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays, with lefty-hitting catcher-first baseman J.C. Escarra optioned to Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
