With South Korea’s acting President Choi Sang-mok appointing two new justices to the Constitutional Court of Korea on Tuesday, the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk Yeol is set to speed up, despite one vacancy remaining on the nine-seat court.

A South Korean court issued warrants Tuesday to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol and search his office and residence over his short-lived declaration of martial law.

In what can be seen as an alarming development for South Korea's impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol, the country's Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials (CIO) has said that the ousted president will be arrested within the court-stipulated dated of January 6.
