Aug 7, 2015 · Windows 10 has a in-built Reader app for pdf files. You can right click the pdf file and click Open with and select Reader app to open with. If it does not work, you may want to make Reader app a default to open pdf files each time you double click on pdf files to open. Right click pdf file and click Set a Default program and choose Reader app.

Jun 1, 2018 · In the Preferences dialog box, choose General in the Categories list, and then select the Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer check box. Enable PDF thumbnail previews Click OK. Wait for a few seconds while Acrobat is configured to show thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer. Restart then check again.
Can't open any PDF's after Windows 10 recent update
All this started after since recently when i upgrated my windows 10 pro { 1909 } to the latest version of windows 10 pro released in may 2020 { 2004 version } NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO . Mar 18, 2016 · What worked for me was open Abobe Acrobat DC and in menu click on Edit >> Preferences >> on left-hand side upper area click on "General" >> on right-hand side, lower area click on the button "Select As Default PDF Handler" >> Okay. Then I instantly got my PDF viewer back in Windows Explorer.

May 28, 2023 · I'll use F as shorthand for one of my .pdf apps. I'll use P as shorthand for the other .pdf app. (I prefer not to use the names of apps that compete with one another.) P is currently the default app for .pdf files. I want to change the default to F. Then I scroll down the list of default file types to .pdf. Thanks for your help. SweetTasha.

Jan 10, 2025 · If changing it under the 'Choose default apps by file type' under Settings > System > Default Apps still doesn't work, I would recommend doing what we call the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) scan on your computer which would refresh any corrupted windows components (e.g. Settings App, File Explorer, etc.)
