The redheaded Still Life in Backrooms (2026) is based on Barbara, Clark's ex-wife who left him because of his drinking. Earlier in the movie she's hostile, chasing him and screaming. Later on she's totally passive, doesn't even react when he hurts her.The reason is that the Backrooms isn't actually showing the real Barbara, it's showing whatever Clark currently believes about her. Early on he still feels guilty about the divorce, so she comes back angry, basically his guilt with a body attached.
